Is home exchanging safe?
In the many years that home exchanging has been around, there have been very few reports of theft or vandalism. That being said, however, there is a certain element of uncertainty when doing a home exchange. It is advisable to communicate frequently
with your prospective exchange partner, and ask for references if possible. For those who regularly rent out their luxury properties, home exchanging is a safer alternative because you actually 'get to know' your exchange partners a little.
Do my auto and homeowner's insurance policies cover exchangers using my car and home?
You should check with your insurance provider for specifics. In the U.S., most auto insurance policies cover other drivers of your vehicle.
